What would a Kamala Harris Middle East Policy look like?
As governments, groups and non-state actors across the Middle East race to recalibate to Kamala Harris’ entrance into the US presidential election, all are asking one question: what would a Harris Administration Middle East policy look like? Taylor Luck looks beyond the rhetoric on Gaza and Israel to find an answer.
Talk- Rebuilding Trust
As part of CS Monitor’s Rebuilding Trust series, I took part in a panel discussion in Newport Beach, California, with Monitor Editor Mark Sappenfield, veteran White House and Congress correspondent Francine Kieffer, and former editor Marshall Ingwerson to discuss how mistrust has exacerbated the Israel-Hamas war, politicians’ and militia leaders’ deadly ‘algorithm of cynicism’, and potential rays of progress for the way forward.
Attack in Jordan and America’s War
The Israel-Hamas conflict is increasingly being seen by peoples across the Middle East as America’s war, putting the United States on a collision course with Iran. How Do You See the World? (on writing from a distance)
We foreign correspondents rarely see the impact of our work. Located thousands of miles from the office, neither fully here nor fully there, we are disconnected, disjointed, filing our work off into the ether. A rare visit to The Christian Science Monitor and an exhibit bringing Maan, Jordan to Boston, gave me an opportunity to see the true power of the written word.
Finding the Values in Middle East News—aka Why I Write
Talking about values does not make the Middle East and North Africa a kinder place—it makes it a knowable place. This is my mission.
